The ports of Hoorn
Hoorn is a beautiful atmospheric harbor town on the IJsselmeer. With your sailboat you can moor and spend the night in the old harbor right in the center of the old town. From there you can easily explore the city. Or you can just stay in the port, because there is plenty to do there too. This in the form of cozy restaurants and nice bars. Or just get some fish from the fishmonger.
Hoorn is an old VOC city (United East India Company) and there is a lot of history to be found. You can choose from different ports, there is something for everyone!
In addition to the old port, you recently also have the Marina Cape Horn. This harbor is small-scale, in the middle of nature and very cosy! Marina Kaap Hoorn has a very nice beach bar, called Oranje Buiten. There is also a small beach and a large lawn. Children can have a great time here!
Next to Marina Kaap Hoorn is the beautiful park of Hoorn where you can enjoy a lovely walk. If you walk through the entire park you will end up in the center of Hoorn; a nice walk of about 15 minutes.
But you can of course also sail to the inner harbor to moor there.
When entering the bowl of Hoorn, the southern entrance must be used. We then have the Grashaven on the port side. This marina has good sanitary facilities and a clubhouse. The harbor is very easily accessible and has spacious boxes with water and electricity on the jetty.
There are some play equipment for children, and you are wonderfully sheltered. Furthermore, the Grashaven in Hoorn has a yacht service and hoisting installation for minor maintenance.
It is about a 10 minute walk to the center.

Sailing a little further on the starboard side is the Association Harbor of Hoorn. This harbor has a unique location on the edge of the Hoornse Bos. You can enjoy walking, playing football, running, etc. WSV Hoorn is very active when it comes to sailing competitions, and there is often plenty to do! Usually during these events they have also arranged something for the children in the form of a bouncy castle etc.

Just like all cities around the IJsselmeer, the Nicest harbor is in the center!
If you go straight on through the narrow old lock and then starboard, you will come to a large basin where you can moor other ships alongside. Around this bowl are the nicest and best restaurants in Hoorn, and of course Café de Volendammer where it gets very cozy later in the evening! On the starboard side of the bowl is a nice lawn with some play equipment for the children. From here you have to walk around the entire bowl for the restaurants and sanitary facilities, but you can enjoy the sun all day and afternoon!

There is a gas station in Hoorn with a water sports shop in the shape of a bunker ship. This bunker vessel Atalante is berthed on the port side when entering the basin. They are closed on Wednesdays, but otherwise you can go there for diesel and stuff for on board.
