We sail to England (and back) in 5 (to 7) days. Depending on the wind, the crossing itself takes approximately 20 hours.

In any case, a fantastic experience, of course, and also a great opportunity to make this crossing under professional guidance.

You can still register to participate in the following trips:

  • 2 to 6 (a 8) May 2022
  • 16 to 20 (a 22) May 2022
  • 20 to 24 (a 26) June
  • September 2022: dates to follow

You sail along for € 775.00 (based on 5 days).

We pay the various costs during our trip such as food, drinks, harbor dues and fuel via a joint on-board cashier.

The sailing trip to England

The starting point of the trip is the cozy Buitenhaven of Enkhuizen. So you not only sail on the North Sea, but also on the IJsselmeer and the always beautiful Waddenzee.

From the Wadden you sail between Den Helder and Texel along the coast towards IJmuiden. From there we make the crossing to England. It is also possible to cross directly from Den Helder. In England you will visit a few nice places (depending on the weather and wind) after which you sail back to the Netherlands; usually IJmuiden, so that you return to the IJsselmeer (Markermeer) via the North Sea Canal and Amsterdam for a relaxed trip back to home port Enkhuizen.

The route can of course be adjusted depending on the weather. In case of too strong wind (force 6 Beaufort or harder) or thunderstorms, a modified route can be sailed. For example, if there is less wind on the Waddenzee and/or along the North Sea coast and/or on the IJsselmeer/Markermeer, a route closer to home can be chosen. Although a crossing to England is of course a lot of fun, safety is always paramount when sailing.

The yacht: classic two-master

You will sail on our classic ketch; this ship is ideal for sea trips due to its size and stability. There is also a lot to trim with 2 masts and double sails. The ship also has both a spacious furling genoa and a smaller furling jib that can be used at the same time.

This sailing ship also has a steering wheel both outside and inside; in rough weather and also during the night it is quite nice to be able to send in too :). Both inside and outside you can keep an eye on everything on the plotter and with AIS.

The ship has 2 2-person berths in the back and 4 x 1-person bunks in the front.
