The old town of Lemmer is lovely, and there are several harbors where it is easy to moor.
The city center of Lemmer is a favorite of most tenants because of the cozy terraces where you can moor.

Lemmer is located in a beautiful location on the IJsselmeer. From Lemmer you can sail through Friesland, or you can go to the IJsselmeer in the direction of Stavoren or Lelystad. It is not for nothing that there are so many sailing yacht rental companies in Lemmer!

Lemmer is of course known for its extensive water sports recreation. You can enjoy the countless restaurants, but the Strandje is also known!
Once a year there is the Skutsjesilen in Lemmer, a must to sail to with your Happy sailing ship!

Navigating to Lemmer is quite easy. From the middle of the IJsselmeer you can easily follow the buoys that send you to the northwest of the IJsselmeer, towards the tip of Lemmer.
With a southwest wind, the waves can build up nicely. This is not a problem for the wind, but crossing from Lemmer can sometimes be unpleasant. An alternative could be to sail into Friesland from Lemmer. After the lock in Lemmer, the whole of Friesland is open to you. After a small round trip, you can leave Friesland again via the lock at Stavoren to return to the IJsselmeer, from where it is 11 miles to Enkhuizen and then 10 miles to Hoorn.

Lemmer has a lot to offer because it has several ports. It is generally a bit of sailing to Lemmer because it is located in a kind of point on the IJsselmeer. With a lot of wind from west to southwest, there can be nice waves in this area, so keep that in mind.

The first harbor you encounter from the IJsselmeer is Jachthaven de Punt. This is a cozy harbor with some grass and beautiful boxes. The harbor is a bit further from the center, it is about a 10-minute walk. De Punt marina can be reached on tel. 0514 563470
The beauty of this harbor is that it is right next to the beach of Lemmer. When the weather is nice you can walk straight to the beach!
On the other side of the water in Lemmer is Marina Friese Hoek, part of Skips Maritiem. The harbor has a water sports shop, yacht service and an attractive cafe restaurant. They can be reached via tel. 088 0504130. It is also a 10-minute walk from this port to the center.

Sailing a little further into this bay you will arrive at the Lemster Bay marina. This marina has beautiful facilities in the complex, including a bowling alley, casino and game basement with pool tables! This marina offers a lot of fun and is close to the center!
The harbor can be found by sailing straight ahead until just before the lock of Lemmer. The harbor is on the port side. Lemster Bay marina can be reached via tel. 06 15246564

You will find the most beautiful places in Lemmer to moor in the city center. For this you have to go through the lock, and then through a bridge, but then you are lying with your boat in the middle of Lemmer next to the restaurants and shops!
If possible, try to moor on the starboard side, then you will also have the longest sun in the cockpit!

The easiest supermarket in Lemmer is the Poiesz Supermarket. You can moor near this supermarket by sailing to it, but it is also fine on foot as long as you don’t carry too many heavy bottles with you…
If you are in the city center, the Spar is the closest, it is located on the Lijnbaan No. 2.

If you sail through the city center and continue straight ahead, you end up at the Stream channel after which you can sail into Friesland. Via the Grote Breken and the Kufurd you reach Heeg and the PM channel. It is a nice trip to follow this route, and then go south again via the PM channel towards Stavoren.
