Regatta sailing on a rental yacht: round North Holland.

Last weekend our Dehler 37 participated in the sailing competition round North Holland. This is a unique competition that starts in Muiden, and then goes via Enkhuizen, Medemblik and Kornwederzand over the Wadden Sea and the North Sea to IJmuiden.

Skipper Simon and his crew Joost and Jan-Pieter have, in addition to a super nice trip, also sailed well in the middle bracket!

According to Skipper Simon, the atmosphere on board sailing yacht Roelien was very good. Some of the crew had never sailed a race before, and Round North Holland is a perfect event to learn this. They learned a lot about sail trim, navigation and currents. At night it was important to be careful to stay within the shipping channels on the Wadden Sea. Once around the lighthouse of den Helder it was easy. Just follow the coast and sail south!

It is nice to see how a number of individuals have become close after a sailing trip. Everyone had their own input and qualities on board the ship, which led to respect and teamwork.

Fortunately, we didn’t win, says Jan-Pieter, because now we have something to work towards for next year!

Would you also like to sail on the Wadden Sea at night and experience the sunrise on the North Sea? Call or email us to register for a nice tour. This can be done with friends or alone.
We will then sail around Noordholland with an experienced skipper who will teach you all the tricks of the trade!
